We must fix our nation’s broken immigration system with policies that reflect our shared values.
Lauren has traveled to the U.S.–Mexico border multiple times to provide oversight of the inhumane, unacceptable humanitarian crisis. She strongly opposes the Administration’s family separation policy.
- With bipartisan support, Lauren passed legislation to prevent children from dying in federal custody along the US Mexico border.
- Lauren co-sponsored The American Dream and Promise Act to protect Dreamers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders who have lived much of their lives in the United States and have made this country their home.
- Lauren voted in favor of the Farm Workforce Modernization Act, bipartisan immigration legislation that modernizes and streamlines our nation’s temporary agricultural workers program to ensure local businesses have access to the experienced workers they need without the red tape and extreme financial burden of the current system.
- During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauren and her team helped numerous IL-14 residents evacuate foreign countries and return safely home to Illinois.
