Lauren Underwood for Congress is looking for motivated, reliable, and passionate individuals to join our campaign as Community Organizers. Previous campaign organizing experience is not required. If you are interested in the position please apply below.

Job Description:

  • Implement aspects of the campaign’s field and voter contact program
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers, interns, and activists to participate in grassroots activities (i.e. door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and early voting to persuade and turn out voters)
  • Meet and exceed goals for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, visibility, and GOTV

Responsibilities Include:

  • Proactively reach out to active volunteers and identify and recruit new volunteers 
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with colleagues
  • Personally execute voter contact by canvassing, events, and phone calls to voters
  • Daily data entry of organizing and voter contact data
  • Reports directly to the Regional Organizing Director

Applicants must have:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines
  • A service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to use Google Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and creatively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, showing attention to detail
  • Goal-orientation and willingness to hold oneself accountable
  • A team orientation that combines collegiality and creativity to drive and motivate others
  • Strong commitment to progressive values

Applicants will be considered more competitive if they have 

  • Political campaign experience whether as a volunteer, fellow, intern, or staff
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a licensed and insured vehicle
  • Proficiency in VAN
  • Preference will be given to Spanish-speaking applicants

This job is based in IL-14 and successful applicants will be expected to relocate to the district.

Salary is $3,500.00/month + 100% fully paid Silver level health care plan.
