The Lauren Underwood for Congress campaign is looking for a motivated, reliable and passionate individual to join our campaign as a Regional Organizing Director.  If you are interested in the position, please use the link below to apply. 

Job Description:

  • Execute all aspects of the organizing program within your region
  • Hire, manage, and train organizers, interns, and fellows  
  • Work with Organizers to recruit, train, and manage volunteers and activists to participate in grassroots activities 
  • Ensure that your region meets and exceed goals for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, visibility, and GOTV
  • Build a strong team culture and work collaboratively with other teams 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Communicate proactively and effectively with colleagues
  • Train and coach staff and volunteers on a daily basis.
  • Personally execute voter contact by canvassing, events, texting, and phone calls to voters
  • Ensure daily data entry of organizing and voter contact data
  • Communicate and collaborate with local candidates, officials, and activists  
  • Reports directly to the Organizing Director

Applicants must have:

  • Previous electoral campaign and/or organizing experience
  • Strong commitment to progressive values
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines in a high paced environment
  • Ability to use google docs and VAN and a familiarity with organizing metrics 
  • Willingness to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, showing attention to detail
  • Goal-orientation and willingness to hold oneself accountable
  • A team orientation that combines collegiality and creativity to drive and motivate others

Applicants will be considered more competitive if they have 

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a licensed and insured vehicle
  • Experience managing organizing staff

This job is based in IL-14 and successful applicants will be expected to relocate to the district. 

Salary is $4,000/month + 100% fully paid Silver level health care plan.
