Congresswoman Lauren Underwood Announces First Ad Buy Of Il-14 Reelection Campaign
Ad comes immediately after Underwood completed a series of socially distant campaign events across the 14th District.
ST CHARLES, IL – Congresswoman Lauren Underwood announced her first ad buy of the General Election Thursday. The 30-second ad, “Everywhere,” highlights Underwood’s accessibility to her constituents and her ability to cut through the partisanship in Washington to pass meaningful legislation, such as the Lower Insulin Costs Now Act, into law.
“When I was first elected in 2018, I promised to be the most accessible Congresswoman this community has ever seen,” Underwood said. “Over the past year and a half, I’ve held more than 25 town halls and 135 community events in every corner of the 14th District. In partnership with my constituents, I’ve been able to pass three pieces of bipartisan legislation into law and make real progress for our community. I’m running for reelection because northern Illinoisans deserve a representative who will listen to their concerns and deliver for them in Washington.”
Underwood’s announcement comes immediately after she completed a summer series of socially distant campaign events across the 14th District. She participated in socially distant conversations on constituent’s porches and responded to voter questions over Zoom. Underwood called the innovative events “porch parties,” and hosted an event for each of the seven counties in the district.
The ad, released two weeks before vote-by-mail ballots are mailed out in Illinois, represents a significant investment for the campaign. The commercial will run on cable across Illinois’ 14th District.
Underwood is endorsed by the Illinois Farm Bureau’s ACTIVATOR PAC, President Barack Obama, the Illinois AFL-CIO, and more.
